Rank wish JEXPO 2012 counseling date

It is hereby notified that the counselling for admission of students in the 1st year of 3 Years’ Diploma Courses in Engineering / Technology / Architecture in different Government / Government Sponsored /Private Polytechnics of West Bengal for the academic session 2012-13 will start on and from 17.07.2012 at APC Roy Polytechnic, Raja S.C. Mullick Road, Jadavpur, Kolkata-700032 as per following programme. The counselling will be conducted through Multi Station Parallel Process (Manual Process).

There will be no separate counselling for SC, ST, PC and Female candidates. Merit listed candidates will be counselled on the basis of JEXPO Rank. Candidates will have to exercise their categorical rank, if any, at the time of allotment of seat. 30% of the total intake capacity of a branch in each polytechnic will be reserved under “District Quota [DQ] Seat” for the candidates of respective districts where the said polytechnic is situated. Out of those seats, 50% seats will be reserved for female candidates. The district of the school from where the candidate passed qualifying examination will be considered for availing district reservation. 

The polytechnics located in the districts of Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Pargans will be termed as “KNSHH District” for the purpose of counselling and therefore, the candidates passed qualifying examination from a school situated in any of the aforesaid districts will be allowed admission in any polytechnics under KNSHH District under district reservation. Similarly, both the districts of Uttar & Dakshin Dinajpur will be termed as ‘Dinajpur’ for the purpose of counselling and the candidates passed qualifying examination from a school situated in Uttar or Dakshin Dinajpur will be allowed admission in Dinajpur District under district reservation. 

The counselling will be made till availability of seats and the counselling will be stopped when the seats are filled-up. 

All candidates will have to pay a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred) only in the form of demand draft drawn on United Bank of India (from any branch of UBI) in favour of 

“West Bengal State Council of Technical Education”. If selected for admission and a seat is allotted, the candidate will have to pay an amount of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees two thousand) only in the form of nonrefundable demand draft drawn on United Bank of India (from any branch of UBI) in favour of “West Bengal State Council of Technical Education”. (For private polytechnics additional fees may have to be deposited at the time of admission in the respective polytechnic). So, candidates have to bring both the drafts of Rs.500/- and Rs.2,000/- at the time of counselling. 

A Medical Fitness Certificate in the format  will have to be obtained from Government Medical Officer / Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking and to be submitted in original at the time of counselling. It may be noted that in no other form this certificate will be accepted. Medical Certificates issued by Registered Medical Practitioners will also be accepted. Medical Certificate must possess seal and registration number of the certifying medical officer / practitioner. Candidates must bring the following documents in original for verification at the time of issuance of allotment letter: 

i) Admit Card of Madhyamik / equivalent examination as age proof ii) Mark sheet of Madhyamik / equivalent examination iii) JEXPO-2012 Admit Card
