There will be no separate counselling for SC, ST, PC and Female candidates. Merit listed candidates will be counselled on the basis of JEXPO Rank. Candidates will have to exercise their categorical rank, if any, at the time of allotment of seat. 30% of the total intake capacity of a branch in each polytechnic will be reserved under “District Quota [DQ] Seat” for the candidates of respective districts where the said polytechnic is situated. Out of those seats, 50% seats will be reserved for female candidates. The district of the school from where the candidate passed qualifying examination will be considered for availing district reservation.
The polytechnics located in the districts of Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, South 24 Parganas and North 24 Pargans will be termed as “KNSHH District” for the purpose of counselling and therefore, the candidates passed qualifying examination from a school situated in any of the aforesaid districts will be allowed admission in any polytechnics under KNSHH District under district reservation. Similarly, both the districts of Uttar & Dakshin Dinajpur will be termed as ‘Dinajpur’ for the purpose of counselling and the candidates passed qualifying examination from a school situated in Uttar or Dakshin Dinajpur will be allowed admission in Dinajpur District under district reservation.
The counselling will be made till availability of seats and the counselling will be stopped when the seats are filled-up.
All candidates will have to pay a non-refundable counselling fee of Rs.500/- (Rupees five hundred) only in the form of demand draft drawn on United Bank of India (from any branch of UBI) in favour of
“West Bengal State Council of Technical Education”. If selected for admission and a seat is allotted, the candidate will have to pay an amount of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees two thousand) only in the form of nonrefundable demand draft drawn on United Bank of India (from any branch of UBI) in favour of “West Bengal State Council of Technical Education”. (For private polytechnics additional fees may have to be deposited at the time of admission in the respective polytechnic). So, candidates have to bring both the drafts of Rs.500/- and Rs.2,000/- at the time of counselling.

Council was not published any SC,ST or PC rank separately. I think you should go to the counseling venue first day and ask to the officer about it.

If your rank will be called for 2nd counseling then you have the chance to take admission in Private polytechnic colleges. I am not sure about your counseling.

Dont get tense about your st/sc/pc rank guys...you will call up through jexpo rank but they will also provide your catagorical rank in the time of allotment of seats,you all unnecessary take tension i suggst plz read that notification carefully which is given by suman da's blog...its pdf free!!best of luck!

i am reading in class XII in science...but i don't like to read the books of those subject,i have only interest in computer,i think i will not pass the h.s exm if i will give...what should be better for me??(To go to polytechnic/give the h.s first)..please answer...
If you wanna read in Polytechnic you also have to read another subjects with Computer. Like Mathematics, Physics, Mechanics, Management etc. So in our country no Diploma or Degree courses in only one subject like computer or other. You must have to read some complementary subjects with the main subject. So my suggestion is complete your H.S first. You have the chance to go WBJEE. Take the admission test of both WBJEE and JEXPO 2013. I love Science. I think Science is the easy-est subject then Arts or Commerce. Concentrate on your H.S exam.

For mechanical, Birla Institute of Technology (Gov.) is best. But i dont think, u wil get that. U can try in central calcutta polytechnic, north calcutta polytechnic.

Some Private colleges in West Bengal and others State have the the provision to direct admission in polytechnic without any Entrance examination in management quota. You can go to your nearest Private polytechnic college and ask them about it..
I don't know which tread but you have the chance to get admission in government polytechnic.

Have you any Xerox copy of your form. If you have this then its alright. Brought this Xerox copy to the counseling place. It will be worked as the counter folio.If you have no Xerox copy then go to the counseling place and they will help you. They are very helpful.
