ADMISSION OF STUDENTS IN DARJEELING POLYTECHNIC FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2012-13

It is hereby notified that the counselling for admission of students in the 1st year and 2nd year of 3 Years’
Diploma Courses in Engineering / Technology in Darjeeling Polytechnic, Kurseong for the academic
session 2012-13 will be held at Darjeeling Polytechnic, Kurseong as per following programme.

Candidates called for counselling must report at the venue of counselling on the specified date within 10.00 a.m. Failure to report at the scheduled date and time will make the candidate ineligible for further counselling. Seats will be awarded to the candidates following reservations under Hill-Subdivision, SC, ST, PC categories. Scheduled Caste/Tribe, Physically Challenged (PC) candidates are directed to produce the Caste Certificate or Physically Challenged Certificates in original from the competent authority at the time of counselling without which their claim for reserved seats will not be entertained. However, they will be allowed admission in General quota. The counselling will be made till availability of seats and the counselling will be stopped when the seats are filled-up. A Medical Fitness Certificate in the format given hereinafter will have to be obtained from Government Medical Officer / Medical Officer of a Government Undertaking and to be submitted in original at the time of counselling. It may be noted that in no other form this certificate will be accepted. Medical Certificates issued by Registered Medical Practitioners will also be accepted. Medical Certificate must possess seal and registration number of the certifying medical officer / practitioner. Candidates must bring the following documents in original for verification: i) Admit Card of Madhyamik / equivalent examination as age proof ii) Mark sheet of Madhyamik / equivalent examination for admission in 1st year iii) Mark sheet of HS (Vocational) / ITI (10+2) examination for admission in 2nd year iv) Cast Certificate in original (for reserved category candidates only) v) Physically Challenged certificate in original (for PC candidates only) vi) Medical Certificate in prescribed format vii) Voter Identity Card of candidate’s Father/Mother. viii) Copy of Residential Certificate (issued not below the rank of BDO).
